We’ve talked about letting go of certainty, valuing experience over persuasion, and experiencing creativity as spiritual practice. So what now?

This part’s about how to live with it all — how to keep making, how to stay encouraged, and how to find the people who truly resonate with what you create.

đź«‚ Celebrate Without Competing

“If one of my peers is winning, CELEBRATE WITH THEM. Their win is not my loss. My win is not their loss.”

This has been a game-changer for me.

We live in a culture where success feels like a limited resource — like if someone else got it, there’s less left for you. But that’s just not how creativity works.

We’re drawing from a universal source. And when someone finds alignment — when their music lands in a film, or their audience grows, or they hit a breakthrough — you get to celebrate that as evidence that it’s possible.

You’re not behind. You’re just on a different path.

💡 You’re Not for Everyone — and That’s the Point

Some people make music for the charts.

Some make it for supervisors and sync briefs.

Some for worship.

Some for their inner child.

Whatever your why is — know it, honor it, and market accordingly.

You’re not trying to reach everyone. You’re trying to reach your people.

And if your art helps even one person feel seen, safe, or inspired, it’s already worth it.

🔍 Find Your People by Studying Your Art

You’ve made things. Great. Now ask:

  • Why did I make this?

  • What was I trying to say?

  • What emotion does this evoke?

Your answers are the blueprints for finding your audience.

They’re the breadcrumbs that lead to your tribe — the people who’ll feel deeply connected to your work because it’s honest.

And once you’ve found even a small pocket of those people?

You’re not just an artist anymore.

You’re part of a conversation.

🔄 Process Over Platform

It’s easy to feel like you need the big break — the TV spot, the viral moment, the Spotify editorial placement.

But real creative growth happens in the process.

The goal isn’t exposure, it’s expression.

If a firehose of attention hit you tomorrow and you weren’t ready to meet it with structure and clarity — it could do more harm than good. But if you’ve been steadily building your creative muscles, your catalog, and your values?

Then you’re ready — not just to get attention, but to sustain it.

🧠 Remember This…

Your art may not be everyone’s favorite, but for someone out there, it’s the one.

That’s enough. You’re enough.

Keep going.
