I came across this video on accident last night on Facebook.  This is a GREAT example why I'm thankful that I was never a music major in college.  Too pretentious.  The magic is gone.  I've used some of the principles this video talks about, but I definitely did NOT think about them in any of the terms used in this video... It was more of a ...

"Wow, that sounds really nice... I think I'll keep it!"

Anyways, I was unable to follow most of this video (from a terminology standpoint), but I guess I'm glad that music theory masters are out there to answer any questions... That being said, I feel like some music theory masters get so deep into the weeds that they're incapable of answering the easiest music theory questions in layman's terms -and I'm a layman's terms kinda guy. Needless to say, I did NOT follow any of the "quick and dirty" explanation this guy gives when explaining building melodies over the progression. Maybe I'm too dense for this music stuff... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm certain that i would not have lasted long in any classes with a teacher this passionate about modes.

Nope. Nope. Nope.

What do you make of it?  Were you able to follow along?  Did you try any of the given suggestions?  How'd that go for ya?!

Mucho, Macho, Muchacho Love,
